Albert Louis Greenberg grew up on the South Side of Chicago. He has worked as a playwright, composer and performer.

His works include Trotsky and Frida, The Fatherless Sky, and Una Noche de Suenos Vidi Flores-A Dream of Flowers. He has performed his plays throughout the United States, Europe and Canada, including the Internationales Theater and Tanz Festival in Salzburg, the Los Angeles International Arts Festival and the Sommerfestival in Hamburg, Germany.

He is currently creating the score for an original theatre piece based mainly on the stories of immigrant families in Oakland where he lives with his wife and daughter. Xámza is his first novel.
